The employee auction was for charity. Love wasn't part of the plan... until it was.

Rebecca Linden knows that she's in trouble when Logan Brewster shows up at the charity auction and hires her to help him open his tenth and most luxurious hotel. Logan is temptation personified, and she'd given up on temptation long ago. What's more, Logan is a wealthy and sophisticated man while she is strictly milk and cookies. What she wants out of life - the simple pleasures of the home and family she's been denied for so long - are exactly the kinds of things a man like Logan has no desire for. If she had her way, she would turn this job down, turn her back on Logan and all that temptation and never look back. But this auction will help desperately needy children, so that isn't an option. The best she can hope for is to keep her head down, do her job and do her best to ignore this compelling man until she can make her escape in a few weeks.

Logan hadn't planned on attending the auction. He had his employees for the new hotel all lined up. But then his assistant (and lover - a woman he'd considered for a marriage of convenience) deserted him. He hired Rebecca merely with the hope that she could be trained quickly and transformed into an assistant capable of handling his born-to-wealth clientele. What he got was so much more than he bargained for. As a man who had clawed his way up from the mean streets without love or the aid of anyone but himself, he eschews love and family. Business is everything to him. A woman like Rebecca who wants a family more than anything shouldn't appeal to him at all. Indeed, getting to close to her could only be disastrous to both of them. So why is he having so much trouble maintaining a strictly business attitude toward her? The end of this employee experiment can't come too soon. Any longer and someone is bound to get hurt...
