The Queen of Darkness
(2026)(Book 35 in the Backyard Starship series)
A novel by J N Chaney and Terry Maggert
Van, the Fafnir, and the Fist of Orion's expedition to Antares is far from home, from support, from friends.
They've learned from the last survivor of the shadowy race called the Builders that the answers they seek to the puzzle of the missing DNA, the vanishing stars and the growing threat to known space from the mysterious Fold might be aboard the Bell of Antrades, an ancient ship lurking amid distant stars.
But the Bell has many names, and many stories—none of which are truly known.
So they seek answers, and the ship, and more. In the endless expanse of deepest space, they face ancient technologies lost to the depths of time, alongside new races who regard humanity as a problem for elimination.
Far from home, and far from help, Van will make choices that ripple through the entire Milky Way—command decisions on a scale beyond anything he’s ever imagined. But he’s not alone, and the Fafnir and her crew are anything but ordinary. For the denizens of the endless black, Van Tudor isn’t just something new.
He is change itself. He is justice.
And he has arrived.
Genre: Science Fiction
