Nun's Cross: A dream, gated development in Dublin that sprang up during the boom and promised a better life at a time when the banks were giving away money and all kinds of people suddenly able to climb up the social ladder.

But now the bubble has burst, the perfect place to bring up a family is full of residents struggling to make their mortgage repayments.

AMANDA WELLS was one - a young mum down on her luck, who came up with a new source of income - and her body's just been found, dumped in a shallow grave in the Dublin mountains.

Another neighbour, ROY MURPHY started working for a meat packing plant when his business went bust in the recession, and he's just vanished off the face of the earth.

Could someone be using the skeletons in the closets of Nun's Cross residents to bail themselves out? Because the links between the recent cluster of crimes and the kind of secrets families like to keep buried are impossible for DI JO BIRMINGHAM to ignore.

Everyone else involved in the case believes the solution is open and shut, and that Roy has gone on the run because he murdered Amanda. That's because a plastic bag stuffed in Amanda's mouth bears the logo of a shop that went bust fifteen years previously, the exact same store where a missing woman, SARAH FLINT, was last seen alive. Since Roy happens to be married to Sarah's sister, MARY, the powers that be believe it's a coincidence impossible to ignore.

But Jo, who discovered Amanda's body after an anonymous tip-off led her to the desolate spot in the Dublin mountains, is not convinced. All set to go on a year's sabbatical to repair her broken marriage and help her husband, DAN recover from the devastating injuries sustained in her last big case, she has less than a week to find out if Roy has been framed. Her investigation will question what it really means to end up living next door to neighbours from hell, and ask how much anyone really knows about who they're moving in beside before they sign up to a lifetime of debt. But the one person who could help her crack the case, Roy's wife, Mary is so desperate to protect her autistic son, CONOR from being labelled an oddball - guaranteed if he ends up a murderer's son - that she is going out of her way to thwart all efforts to establish the truth.
