Lover Dark, Lady Fair

When Imelda Lawson travels to the home of a distant relative in Cornwall she enters a world of intrigue in which the mask of a friend may conceal a foe. Across the Channel the Emperor Napoleon threatens, and after dark small boats bearing forbidden cargoes slip into the bay. As companion to the flirtatious Charity Hesketh, Imelda is caught up in the schemes of three men - the enigmatic Tarquin, his friend Mark, and the Frenchman Philippe Beauvallet.
