Roland of the High Crags

(2020)
A novel by

The Dragon is to be admired, Pilgrim. And feared. Yet, when they wage war and march in the tight ranks of their feared phalanxes, spear tips glistening in the sun, clan colors proudly displayed in their billowing flags and banners above their steeled helms, there is a grim splendor to behold and admire.
Yes, we fight the Dragon. We stand and confront the evils of the Dark Gods so beloved by the Dragon. We confront the darkness that is the Netherworld. That endless wonder where alternate realities in infinite numbers exist. This place where Magic resides. Where the countless souls of the dead who leave the Outer Realms go and reside forever in.
We fight. For we are the Brotherhood of the Bretan. We are the warrior-monks and wizards of an ancient order. Even in death, we never surrender to the evils which fill this world of treachery and deceit. For we know the grim truth. Evil cannot be destroyed. It cannot die. And we of the Bretan must confront it in whatever form it wishes to reveal itself. To confront it and defeat it and keep in chains locked deep in a dungeon for as long as we can. Even though we know it will escape again and attempt to rage across the baronies and kingdoms of Dragon and Man like some deadly plague.
Come, join our fight. Never surrender.
