Like many stage actresses, Ashley Morrison had tended to look on film work as beneath her dignity; nevertheless, when she was offered a big film part, just as family commitments were urging her to get some more money from somewhere, she decided to accept it -making it clear to the director Lucas Martineaux, that she didn't intend to make a habit of it. So she only had herself to blame when, having fallen in love with Lucas, . . she realised what a low opinion he had of her - and realised, too, that the glamorous film star Sloane Sheppard had got there first anyway!
