Ellen is grateful when an old friend of her late mother, The Dowager Duchess of Baringdale, offers her a position as a governess to her two great-granddaughters.

Christian Barnes, the Duke of Baringdale, has spent the last two years running away from his responsibility as the legal guardian of his late sister’s two daughters. A chance to do business with a wealthy earl has him attending his grandmother’s summer house party in the countryside. The last thing Christian expects is to be attracted to his ward’s lovely governess, Miss Wedgwood.

As Christian and Ellen spend time together there is no denying the attraction between them. Will Christian and Ellen get their happily ever after or will outside forces tear them apart forever?
