Joni’s Barandgrill sparked the idea for this short. Then it took on a life of its own. Not all that unusual when I write. A throwback to my days (mostly nights) as a drummer, I call it improvising. It’s the fun part.
My first stories were either science fiction or horror and they were all short. Johnny Two-Times is a one-off, a derivative of my early sci-fi writings. Though strictly speaking, it's less of a sci-fi story and more a tongue-in-cheek peek at a young couple enjoying their furlough together. On a retro romp in the future, they stumble into Joni’s Bar & Grill. When they have a chance encounter with God, things change.
All seriousness aside, it’s only fiction. Enjoy.
