Retrieving the Storm Caller's Horn
(2026)(The tenth book in the Dame of the Midnight Relics series)
A novel by Brenda Trim
Apparently, seventeen hurricanes don't just decide to form simultaneously off the East Coast and march in formation toward the Outer Banks. Who knew? (Besides every meteorologist screaming into their coffee, anyway.)
I'm Nylah Gilbert. Firefighter. Mom of three kids who think being grounded is a war crime. Wife to a man with the patience of a saint and a body built for sin. Andsurprise!recently appointed Relic Keeper, which is basically a fancy title for "the woman who has to drop everything and go fix it when some supernatural asshole decides to play god with an ancient artifact."
This time, that asshole has the Storm Caller's Horn. He's using it to drown the Eastern seaboard, summon things from trenches that should've stayed forgotten, and oh, fun bonus infect kids with a magical virus, including mine.
So now I have to find the hidden Kalenthi people, who really, really don't want to be found. Survive their own corrupted serpent constructs, which really, really want me dead. And stop whoever's holding the Horn before they finish whatever apocalyptic project they've been quietly working on for decades.
With my best friends Kaiya and Aeira at my side, my pegasus along for the ride, and a demon hunter showing up with the kind of bombshell that makes "hurricanes" sound like a vacation problem, I'm in way over my head.
Good thing drowning isn't really my style.
Time to save the world again. I really need a vacation.
Genre: Fantasy
