The Commonwealth has fallen; the enemy, the Celestial Ascendancy, is now in full control. The future of humanity hangs on a knife-edge, and only Commander Maxwell and the rag-tag crew of his warship, Eudoxus, stands between eternal subjugation and the promise of freedom. As blockade runners sweep the outer rim to save as many people as they can, Maxwell labors to assemble a war fleet to take the battle back to the enemy, to disrupt their planned offensive and defend the one world left to free humanity, the distant colony of Lemuria.
Though even in this last sanctuary, there are snakes in the garden, voices calling for peace, for surrender, voices that gather more and more of their people behind them with their seditious lies, framing Commander Maxwell for murder and forcing him on the run, to fight a hidden threat that could wipe out all life on Lemuria and end any hope for freedom and liberty. Can Commander Maxwell overcome the odds and lead his people to survival...or is the battle for the soul of humanity to end in the desert sands of humanity's final outpost...
