Progeny of the Adder

One by one, beautiful blondes were dragged from the Potomac River by the Washington, D.C. police, their bodies savagely mauled and emptied of all blood. Assigned to the case, homicide detective Harry Picard discovered that the victims had last been seen accompanied by a huge, hulking man who vanished after every crime. And as each new death catapulted Picard further into a morass of bloodcurdling violence and ancient fears, he drew ever nearer to a deadly confrontation with an enemy as horrifying as man's oldest nightmares.
