‘I AM THE COMPANY. I’M THE INDISPENSABLE MAN.’ John Bly is riding high in Silicon Valley. His computer security company is about to go public, making him beyond rich, and to celebrate he’s set up a retreat at a little castle he just bought on an island in a Northern California lake. But he’s saying someone (and not just his friends, family and staff) means to kill him. So as an insurance policy, he invites Quill Gordon and his sidekick Sam Akers along on the weekend to keep an eye on things. In a castle full of dysfunctional people and suspicious servants, there’s a lot to see, and sure enough, before long, a violent death by unnatural causes. With the group stranded on the island, it’s up to Gordon and Sam to get to the bottom of it all, with no information other than what they can get from reluctant suspects who seem to be trying to hide something.
