Insurrection Strikes at the Heart of the Baronies! All Hail the Arch Baron. . .

Under the rule of Arch Baron Alfred II, the Baronies of Corinth have enjoyed a time of unapparelled peace and prosperity. But all is not well. The wind carries whispers of insurrection. There are rumors of people gone missing along the edge of the baronies’ borders.

To investigate, Alfred is forced to turn to the only people he can trust-Knight Captains Malvus and Octavius, two of the finest soldiers the armies of the baronies have to offer, and his own daughter Princess Angeline, a knight captain in her own right, and she who would one day rule.
As Malvus, Octavius, and Princess Angeline face their own struggles, Arch Baron Alfred II, ruler of Corinth and of all of the Baronies, has no choice but to fulfill his duties. Alfred attends an event of state—the Kristening of the young woman who will next rule barony Northend of the Sea, Baron Jordanus’ niece, Grace. At the height of Grace’s Kristening ceremony, catastrophe strikes. Alfred II, along with every capable sword or rifle within the walls of the city, are called to fight.
Soon, Alfred II and his meager, hastily-assembled forces find themselves in a penultimate battle to defend Corinth from its most unexpected invaders—its own citizens. Princess Angeline, the mercenary company known as the Iron Rifles, and Knight Captain Malvus race against time to join the Arch Baron in defense of Corinth and Storm Hill.
Meanwhile, an unthinkable, forgotten enemy lurks in the shadows, biding her time . . .

George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy meets the military action of 1917.
