Gemma Amor recommends

We Are Always Tender with Our Dead (2025)
(Burnt Sparrow, book 1)
Eric LaRocca
"A devastating, sweaty nightmare from the master of Uncomfortable Things: this book is, as the title suggests, both tender and cruel and written with that signature LaRocca melancholic violence I've come to love so much about his work. A beautiful, nasty wee novel."

The Unseen (2025)
Ania Ahlborn
"An intense masterclass in the unexpected, the uncomfortable, and the unforeseen, Ahlborn's latest novel proves once again that she's a virtuoso of the craft and Queen of the unsettling. Put it on your TBR immediately."

When the Wolf Comes Home (2025)
Nat Cassidy
"A savage howl into the night, When the Wolf Comes Home achieves a rare depth that is Cassidy's signature style. Here lies horror, characters you care about, in situations you can barely fathom. First class."
