WESTERN FICTIONEERS- the only professional writers' organization devoted exclusively to traditional western fiction -was founded in 2010 by Robert J. Randisi, James Reasoner, Frank Roderus, Bill Crider, Larry Sweazy, and many other western authors. WF established an award for excellence in the genre, The Peacemaker Award, that has quickly gained prestige in the western publishing field.
