For the first time since I left for college, I’m coming home for Christmas.
Too bad I’m single, jobless, and broke.

On the bright side, it’ll be good to see all my family in one place again.

My mom and dad visited me in the city for the holiday last year and—no offense to the shifter community—my dragon stepfather didn’t quite fit into my human life.
Neither did my witchy mother and aunts.
Or any of my relatives…

Being a human among paranormals is exciting, right up until the moment when I can’t tell a soul about them.

But they’re still my family. I know they’ll welcome me with open arms when I come home with my metaphorical tail between my legs.

There’s only one problem.
Make that two.

Dakota and Kyle—the bear shifters I grew up with.

The brothers.
Handsome, loud, obnoxious, and awfully possessive. I had to cut them off years ago to prove my independence, otherwise they would’ve trapped me here.

I’m grown enough now to see them again without stirring up all those old feelings. I’ve got a degree, life experience, and the maturity to know what I want. I don’t belong in their world. They’d never come to mine. It couldn’t work out between us.

So why does the sight of Dakota and Kyle rushing to help in a snowstorm bring me right back to the girl who wanted to do everything to please them?

You know what…
Screw it.

I’m not the same woman that left here years ago. I’ve got nothing to prove.
It’s one Christmas.
No strings.
No tinsel to tie me down.
One week of frolicking in the past and then I’ll put myself back onto Santa’s good list.

After everything I went through, maybe it won’t hurt to be a little naughty this year.

Author’s note:
The FMC is a side character from the
Sulfur & Spice series. If you’ve read that trilogy, you’ll know that Harper needed her own HEA. This is a complete stand-alone and can be read without reading Sulfur & Spice unless you want to know more about their world.

All of my paranormal holiday mates’ stories will follow this format, featuring a side character we love and giving them their own rom-com-y holidays. If you’re looking for some festive PNR fun that you can finish with one book, this is the ‘series’ for you. They won’t need to be read in order. Enjoy at your own pace.

Preorder disclaimer:
I’m not adding a trope list to this book yet because it’s not fully written. So, I don’t know if it’ll be a why choose story or not. Come back in the fall of 2026 if you need that info before pre-ordering. I’ll let you know which way we’re swinging as soon as I figure it out.
