For the first time since I left for college, I’m coming home for Christmas.

Dakota stole my heart years ago, and I barely survived the aftermath.
I’m grown enough now to see him again without stirring up all those old feelings. I’ve got a degree, life experience, and the maturity to know what I want. I don’t belong in his world. He’d never come to mine. It couldn’t work out between us.
So why does the sight of him rushing to help in a snowstorm bring me right back to the girl who wished she was good enough to stay?
