Mary Clancy

Ireland

Mary Clancy comes from Tipperary Town in Ireland. A middle child of four, a rebel teenager and a wild card. Searching for ways in which to express herself, she began writing poetry which she realised was more dismal than delightful. That was the end of her early writing experience as she set out on her reading journey, relishing ‘Little Women and Good Wives.' Paving the way towards Du Maurier’s 'Jamaica Inn' and 'Rebecca,' before moving on to the talented Maeve Binchy -'Light A Penny Candle' and 'The Lilac Bus.' Reading the gripping Taylor Bradford’s – 'A Woman Of Substance,' spanning four generations of the one family. Soaking up 'The Clan Of The Cave Bears' by Auel. Mary was hooked, drawn into reading about the lives of ordinary people of their time.
Empathising with the characters, enjoying the wonderful colour of words, as in Golden's 'Memoirs Of A Geisha.'
