Carolyn Huynh grew up in Orange County, California, not appreciating the weather enough. She has a BA in journalism from Seattle University and a MS in human centered design from the University of Washington. The youngest daughter of Vietnamese refugees, her writing focuses on her mother’s tall-tales, superstitions, the diaspora, and memory (both real and imaginary).
She especially loves stories about messy Asian women who never learn from their mistakes. After living up and down the West Coast, she currently resides in Los Angeles with her rabbit and dog. She still doesn’t appreciate the weather enough. When she’s not writing, Carolyn daydreams about having iced coffee on a rooftop in Saigon. Follow her on Twitter @CarolynKHuynh.

Destination Funeral (2026)
Paige Harbison
"A tender, speculative exploration of grief, family (of all varieties), and forgiveness. A cheeky, whimsical reminder of the old adage that it is never about the destination. This story will make you want to stay in the time loop, even when you reach the very last page."

The Manor of Dreams (2025)
Christina Li
"Haunting, tender, and intoxicating. Written with gorgeous prose and unforgettable characters, Li's gothic adult debut will leave you devastated until the very end, and then long after you've put the book down."

A Banh Mi for Two (2024)
Trinity Nguyen
"Never have I ever yearned to fall in love on the back of a scooter before. Full of romantic conviction, Trinity Nguyen's debut is a tender balm against diaspora loss. This book has been a joy to witness come to fruition."
