Detective Chief Inspector Tansey found himself personally involved in his latest case when a friend went to live in a select retirement home, run by caring Dr Cassidy and his delightful family. Sadly, Evenlode House soon proved far from the haven it had promised to be. Petty theft was followed by an outbreak of food poisoning, then murder and attempted murder, and finally arson and another death. Who was to blame?
