Their subjects include Joan Didion, David Hockney, Malcolm McDowell and Gore Vidal. Mr. Bachardy's drawings are in the permanent collections of England's National Portrait Gallery and New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mr. Isherwood was the author of the Berlin Stories, A Single Man, A Meeting By the River, etc.
