The Uninvited

Spring i Lapeer Parish, Louisiana. The warm sun beat down o the good, rich farm land making the best bean crop the county had ever seen. But something was stirring beneath the full, lush. green leaves. Something that had survived hundreds of thousands of years. Something that had hungered for too long. Driven, now, by some primeval force, they scurried from under logs, rocks and rotted places. Thet scuttled out of dilapidated barns, tumble-down shacks and old storage bins. The clicking of their jaws grew louder as their need for nourishment grew. Death was a hair's-breadth away - once you met.
