American detective, Jake Nash, is taking a well-deserved vacation in London. But, when a prominent US actor is brutally murdered outside the capital, the American Embassy enlist him to work with Greater Manchester Police as their country's representative. When two more people are murdered, each body mutilated and a similar item left beside them, he, along with DI Sally Fielding and DS Jack Summers, comes to realise that a serial killer is at large. Can they work quickly to prevent any more deaths, and why do they appear to be linked to an event which happened two decades earlier? As Jake investigates, he discovers something from his own past he was unaware of, and which has a strong bearing on the case.
