After capturing and turning in a notorious bank robber in Virginia City, Nevada, Jacob Blade and Penny Coppersmith turn their attention west. They’re told there is likely to be good hunting in Yosemite Valley, California, so that becomes their next destination.
Upon arrival in the valley, they encounter a young man being attacked by two others and come to his rescue. This act of charity plunges them headlong into a long-standing family feud that has traveled from the east to the pristine valley, carried on by people who weren’t even born when it began. The decades-old feud between the McKenna and Fowler families has pitted everyone in the valley against one another, creating tension and danger in an otherwise idyllic environment. With their strong sense of right and justice, Jacob and Penny suspend their hunt for outlaws and use all their wits to try to bring an end to the feud.
