Princess Gizel has a new job – Count of the Western Marches – the huge area she liberated from the Xiongmengda. While there are a large number of warships deployed in the area, they are all watching warp points that lead to unknown places. With the Imperial Navy's budget stretched to the limit, she's not expecting reinforcements any time soon, so in order to explore the area further, she needs to come up with an alternative source of combat vessels. Fortunately, she and Karvon are not short of money, so she decides to personally hire the mercenary fleet run by the renegade Kimerian officer known as Jon Smit, whom she and Karvon met in their travels.
