Ex-copper Mike Harley and his lover, Dr Alexandra Kennedy, are happily ensconsed in a boat on the Suffolk coast until a dead body washes up. Then, as they look for answers, the whole village of Lexton turns against them and an evil intelligence begins to assert itself once more.
