Hayley Ann Solomon

Hayley Ann Solomon is a New Zealand author of historical fiction, poetry, and literary fiction. Her work has been published internationally, including a series of Regency novels with Kensington Publishing in New York, and more recent award-winning poetry and prose with Proverse Hong Kong.

She is the recipient of several Proverse Supplementary Prizes, and two of her novels are currently shortlisted for the International Proverse Prize (2025). Her writing spans genres and forms, from historical romance to contemporary literary fiction and formally structured poetry.

Her work is characterised by warmth, humour, and a thoughtful exploration of human experience, often centring on connection, resilience, and the idea of earned optimism.

She lives in New Zealand, where she continues to write across multiple forms. When not writing, she enjoys singing, walking, and exploring the outdoors, and is known for her bright pink hair and a quietly playful outlook on life.
