ABOUT NEMESIS-II

After the harrowing mission to the Shadowland, The second Kiring war is over, and cleanup is now the focus, all while Fedorov continues to look for other star systems that would make a good Far Seed Colony. He selects Kepler 186 F where the planet is seen to be teaming with strange alien life, and one apex predator there shows signs of sentient intelligence. As Lieutenant Gates makes contact with this being, the mission to Kepler 186 is interrupted by a crisis on a new small Colony at Alpha Trianguli, about 60 light years from Sol. There have been acts of sabotage and the Command staff is stunned to find out who is behind these incidents on this distant outpost of 1,000 people. Then, while visiting, Karpov comes very close to serious injury or death, and the culprit is finally revealed.
Still considering their dire situation with the Colony Virus, Chandros has completed her new EF31 Phage and it is now being mass produced. The new resonance disruptor devices are also ready to purge the Overmind that may have invaded Myalanthus Crystal deposits on Dharma-6 and elsewhere. And the Phage goes on the attack. Then, not long after these new offensive measures are aimed at the Virus, Polyarnny Rift calls to report a sudden outbreak of raving madness in its population of eight million. So Karpov and company must leave Alpha Trianguli to rush to Polyarnny and get Marines on the ground as soon as possible. There, Troyak and his men make a chilling discovery—the Virus is now coming out of its long silent dormancy and going on the attack, and with alarming results.
There is no rest for the weary in this volume and the Command staff is pulled from one crisis to the next, until Tyrenkov’s network finally makes a ghastly discovery concerning strange events observed on Earth, and it will lead them to a dark conspiracy originating at the very top of Earth’s government in the Council of Regents. They have found a way to mitigate their need for food, shelter and medical care for billions of refugees from the cold lands in northern latitudes.
