Soulworm

A novel by

The door between the worlds should never have been opened, but once opened, it could never be closed...only protected. Now the unthinkable has happened. A soulworm has passed through the door and entered a new world, a world ripe for an explosion of the hatred and violence on which the soulworm feeds: our world.

One of the accomplished soulworm-fighting priestesses, known as Warders, prepares to pursue it, but something goes wrong and Liothel, a young, self-doubting acolyte, is sent instead. Sharing the body of an unwitting host, a teenage girl, Liothel must somehow find and destroy the soulworm before it can reproduce and spread its destructive offspring around the worldand before it finds and destroys her.

Battle sites, present-day Saskatchewan and a parallel world, are juxtaposed in the beginning of the novel to set up clarity for the reader concerning settings and their connections and the novels plot-line. On our side of the doorway, this turns out to be a top-notch battle between good guys and bad guys as everyday teenagers, and the soulworms (pure evil waiting to feed) are terrific adversaries. Rounding out this blockbuster novel for young adult readers is a realistic romantic sub-plot.
