Moira Buffini

My name is Moira Buffini and I am a dramatist, screenwriter, showrunner and novelist. That's sounds like a lot of different jobs but essentially, it's the same one. I tell stories. I was born in England to Irish parents and wrote my first play aged fourteen. Since then I have written for the UK's National Theatre, the Almeida and Kiln, and two of my plays, Dinner and Handbagged, have transferred to the West End and off-Broadway. As a screenwriter, I have written four feature films (Jane Eyre, Tamara Drewe, Byzantium and The Dig) and co-created and showrun three seasons of Hulu's Harlots. Most recently, I am thrilled to have written my first novel, Songlight.
