John Creasey, writing as J.J Marric, brings hardened and loveable policeman George Gideon back on to the scene. That was until nine suburban housewives were found brutally murdered in their homes, all nine had been raped. The chief suspect- a family man named Cedric Fadiman. As Gideon jets off to New York with dutiful wife Kate to solve the mystery of some dodgy imports, he soon discovers that crime will go with him, and more murders need to be solved.

His most famous characters include The Baron, Inspector West, and Gideon. The Creasey Dagger is the UK's top award for first time crime novelists with winners including Patricia Cornwell and Minette Walters. Creasey is an inspiration to the aspiring but as yet unpublished author. He had 743 rejection slips before his first book was accepted. He never stopped believing in himself and he never gave up.
