Baseball! Suspense! Michael Connelly decided to become a writer after discovering the books of Raymond Chandler while attending the University of Florida. He has written 17 books, including 12 featuring LAPD Detective Hieronymus Bosch. His novels consistently debut at number-one on the New York Times best-seller list. His most recent is Echo Park, released in October 2006. Connelly's books have been translated into 31 languages and have won the Edgar, Anthony, Macavity, and Shamus awards, as well as many others, both in the U.S. and internationally. "Two Bagger" was his first short story, originally published in 2001 in the anthology Murderer's Row>.
