We went from a school outing to watching the world burn in mere minutes, passing from peace to outright devastation in one step.
Except we didn’t die.
We found ourselves catapulted into the future to a world that isn’t what we were born in. A world of advanced technology. Position. Wealth. Power.
All gone, replaced with a world of devastation and desperation, where clans control all livable land that we know of, and we don’t fit in.
Can we survive a world with dangers beyond our ability to understand? Where the environment can kill us faster than the few other humans yet not as fast as the animals? Where the technology we relied on most of our lives no longer exists and it’s up to us to learn how to make it day to day without dying?
My name is Kris Kellers, and that’s what I’m facing with my classmates. Death and danger at every turn, where the slightest mistake can mean my death or the deaths of my classmates. It’s time to survive or die. We either tame this monster of a new world and stake our claim, or it devours us.
Too bad ghosts of my childhood rear their terrifying head, and I learn the truth about myself. As bad as the world is, as dangerous as it is, only one of us is a real monster.
And it’s not the world.
