Kate Griffin recommends

The House of Whispers (2023)
Anna Mazzola
"Eerie and unsettling, but perhaps Anna Mazzola's superbly realised depiction of a nation gripped by the horrors of fascism is the most terrifying thing of all."

Make Me Clean (2023)
Tina Baker
"Dark, sharp, shocking, funny and sad. Tina Baker has a unique voice in the blackest depths of domestic noir, and Maria is a cleaner you wouldn't want to mess with..."

Begars Abbey (2022)
V L Valentine
"A knowing spin on the English country house ghost story, it's a romp told with sly affection for the genre & great gothic gusto."

The Twyford Code (2022)
Janice Hallett
"A multi-layered, multi-voiced mystery unlike anything I've read before. It's packed with tricky clues, red herrings and cunning acrostics, but ultimately it packs an emotional punch you don't see coming."

Black Drop (2021)
(Laurence Jago, book 1)
Leonora Nattrass
"Lovers of historical thrillers have a treat in store. A splendid twisting tale of murder and espionage at the political heart of Georgian Britain."

Five Minds (2021)
Guy Morpuss
"Amazingly addictive. A wicked, twisty blend of The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, Blade Runner and even a pinch of Rollerball."
