Elizabeth Heathcote

Elizabeth Heathcote has worked as a feature writer and editor on newspapers and magazines for many years, always scratching away at the fiction itch in her spare time. In her journalism she writes about the subjects that relate to life and how we live it about relationships, health, psychology, family. Her jobs have included Womens Editor and Deputy Features Editor at the Independent on Sunday, as well as freelance feature writing for publications such as the Independent, Observer, Guardian, Marie Claire and Red. She is presently associate editor at Psychologies magazine.

She has an addiction to a certain type of psychological crime fiction. In her own writing, she sets out to achieve great plots with twists that keep you guessing and turning the page, alongside characters and relationships that feel deep and true. Her aim is to talk about big life subjects with a light touch, so the depth is deceptive. The best compliment is when people tell her that what she writes stays with them.

Elizabeths home is south-east London, where her novel is set and where, with her partner, she raises her two children. She grew up in Northampton and studied history at the LSE.
