Betsy Lerner recommends

Hot Desk (2025)
Laura Dickerman
"Hot Desk is a publishing meet-cute mash-up: both a revisionist story of literary fame and friendship and a gossipy, romantic romp full of heart."

The Sunflower Boys (2025)
Sam Wachman
"Sam Wachman's first novel is an astonishing coming of age story written with the assurance and authority of a seasoned novelist yet captures the most impossibly tender moments of youth. Traversing both peace and war, this novel is an urgent missive from the front lines of the Russian invasion of Ukraine told from the point of view of a brave boy on the cusp of his life."

If You're Seeing This, It's Meant for You (2025)
Leigh Stein
"In this hauntingly subversive novel, Leigh Stein summons Rebecca, Alice Liddell, and Francesca Woodman to brilliantly explore the cost of online fame for a generation raised on screens. I happily fell down the rabbit hole."
