Liz Kerin recommends

Play Nice (2025)
Rachel Harrison
"Rachel Harrison is on a bloody hot streak. Even if you're a fan of her previous works, you are not prepared for what Play Nice has in store for you. Protagonist Clio might be her nastiest, messiest creation yet; Harrison is the master of writing characters you want to be best friends with but also hope you never meet."

Breathe In, Bleed Out (2025)
Brian McAuley
"BREATHE IN, BLEED OUT is a propulsive, nasty little new age nightmare that turns the desert inside out so we can read the bloody entrails. You'll never feel the same way about heading out to Joshua Tree for the weekend."

Lucky Day (2025)
Chuck Tingle
"A transcendent bisexual fantasia. Prepare to be astonished, unnerved, and ultimately, delighted. Lucky Day is groundbreaking, surrealist horror like you've never seen before."
