Carmella Lowkis recommends

Bone of My Bone (2026)
Johanna van Veen
"Bone of My Bone is a gripping folk-horror fable about love, loss and loyalty that kept me up reading late into the night. Johanna van Veen vividly conjures a Bavaria blighted by death and dark magic in a tale that is sure to hold you in its spell."

No Women Were Harmed (2025)
Heather Mottershead
"A delightfully dark Victorian romp, No Women Were Harmed is an absolute treat for anyone who loves an unreliable narrator with a biting voice."

The Woman in the Wallpaper (2025)
Lora Jones
"A gorgeously atmospheric story about three women grappling to find their place amidst tumultuous social changes. Witty, moving and nail-biting in equal measure, this is a perfectly crafted novel."
