Johanna van Veen recommends

Molka (2026)
Monika Kim
"Razor-sharp, dripping with social commentary, and impossible to put down: with MOLKA, Monika Kim once again raises the bar for horror fiction. I can't wait to see this book get all the hype it deserves."

Japanese Gothic (2026)
Kylie Lee Baker
"Japanese Gothic is many things: a haunting. A mystery. A ghost story. A fairy tale. A love story. Above all, it's a compelling and heartbreaking piece of art about how parental expectations can damage us, and how love can, if not quite heal us, at least set us free."

Wolf Worm (2026)
T Kingfisher
"Gothic, creepy, but also full of Kingfisher's trademark wit, Wolf Worm will burrow deep into your brain and not come out. Another wonderful addition to the horror genre."
