Jefferson Glass
Jefferson Glass grew up near the Klamath Indian Reservation in the ranch country of southeastern Oregon. Influenced by the stories found in his grandfather’s collection of Zane Grey novels, his young imagination went wild in these rural surroundings.
At an early age he often hiked with his dog over countless miles of public land that bordered his family’s property; the only rule was to be home by suppertime. As a teenager, his wanderlust gave way to working the hay-fields of a nearby ranch.
In 1981, Jefferson moved to central Wyoming where he began his writing career. He has written numerous articles on western history for Annals of Wyoming and True West Magazine. His non-fiction books, RESHAW: The Life and Times of John Baptiste Richard (2014) and Empire: The Pioneer Legacy of an American Ranch Family (2020), won a Western Writers of America Spur Award and Will Rogers Medallion Award respectively.
Mr. Glass began research in 2020 on the Conor Armenta Mystery series set historically in 1930s Las Vegas. While exploring Clark County, Nevada and surrounding areas he and his wife stumbled across Kanab, Utah, where they purchased a home and relocated. The magnificent view of The Grand Staircase-Escalante out their back door is certain to inspire years of future writing.
