K Eason recommends
The Wings Upon Her Back (2024)
Samantha Mills
"Mills weaves a deft and jagged narrative of choices and consequences, raw and real and heartbreaking, as a girl fights to achieve her goal, and the woman she becomes has to live with the consequences to herself, her family, her society."
These Burning Stars (2023)
(Kindom Trilogy, book 1)
Bethany Jacobs
"I love a book that makes me pay attention and rewards me for it. I love even more a book with complicated, messy politics. But really, I'm here for the characters, and Jacobs ' are compelling, flawed, tragic and hopeful at the same time. What's that? There's a sequel? I can't wait."
To Shape a Dragon's Breath (2023)
(Nampeshiweisit, book 1)
Moniquill Blackgoose
"A thorough delight . . . To Shape a Dragon's Breath reveals a world that is complex and political through deft, thoughtfully drawn characters who, like their world, are complicated and believable. I love Anequs!"
