The Boss is a parable set in a contemporary office. This hopefully is clear to the reader, as there's little chance anyone would countenance what the protagonist subjects himself to during this story. Despite the plot's outlandishness, I think readers will enjoy the story for what it is. I was going for an O. Henry feel here. Hopefully I pulled it off.
