Kate Francis

Kate Francis is a life-long New Jersey resident who recently relocated to North Carolina. She hasn't forgotten her home state - in fact, it's the setting for the Kenna Devlin Mystery series.

She'd much rather be writing private investigator mysteries than anything else except reading or playing with her grandsons. She loves figuring out what normal people do in abnormal situations, and how the simplest decisions we make end up being the ones that change our lives.

As a former NJ state government executive, Kate brings 30 years of experience navigating the ins and outs of the New Jersey political environment and her knowledge of how government (really) works to her Kenna Devlin mystery series, including Double Image, Triple Damages, and Four Good Reasons. All three books are set in locations familiar to central Jersey readers, including Ewing, Hamilton, Princeton, Washington Crossing, and Trenton.

Kate also writes contemporary romance under the pen name Dina Kates.

Augusta Pine Does Not Exist (2026)
Emily Lloyd-Jones
"Augusta Pine Does Not Exist is a high stakes, high adrenalin, high-tech spy thriller that grips you from the explosive first page and does not let go. Augusta is a smart, funny, kick-ass heroine with skills that give James Bond a run for his money. The twists are relentless, and the locked-down apartment-building setting is tense and claustrophobic. It's The Naturals meets Die Hard and is perfect for fans of Holly Jackson."
