Luna McNamara recommends

The Wandering Queen (2026)
Claire Heywood
"A triumphant reclamation of the legend of Dido...Heywood brings Dido's story to vivid life, moving from the wealth of Tyre to the dusty plains of Carthage. In so doing, Heywood weaves an engaging yarn that restores the ancient queen to her rightful place of dignity."

Hekate (2025)
(Goddesses of the Underworld, book 1)
Nikita Gill
"A marvel! Gill divests these mythological figures of centuries of dust, rendering them vivid, complex - almost human. Hekate's odyssey of self-discovery brings her from the depths of the Underworld to the heights of Olympus, immersing the reader in the life of the goddess of crossroads and witchcraft. This is mythology distilled to its essence, and crafted into glittering, jewel-like prose."

Aphrodite (2025)
Phoenicia Rogerson
"Wit and verve, contrasting laugh-out-loud humor with moments of surprising tenderness."
