James L Nelson recommends
Havoc's Sword (2003)
(Alan Lewrie, book 11)
Dewey Lambdin
"Lewrie is a marvelous creation, resourceful and bold... the action doesn't stop... a wild ride, a voyage filled with historically authentic characters and events, realistically drawn naval action... a page turner, full of the eighteenth century's refreshing lack of political correctness."
Night Falls on Damascus (2006)
Frederick Highland
"The book is peopled with rich, enigmatic characters whose pasts are shrouded in mystery and whose motives are close held secrets."
For Love of Country (2009)
(Cutler Family Chronicles, book 2)
William C Hammond
"A rollicking good read full of battles, glory, and high seas adventure, all firmly rooted in this nation's maritime history that the author knows and portrays so well."
The Bermuda Privateer (2017)
(Nicholas Fallon, book 1)
William Westbrook
"Well done. An exciting tale."
The Traitor of Treasure Island (2019)
John Drake
"Simply an excellent book...The authenticity is palpable, the story engrossing, the characters completely human. Of the many spin-offs that Treasure Island has inspired over the years, this one truly stands out."
