Suzanne Downes
Suzanne Downes was born in Manchester but raised in Stockport, the youngest of ten children. She was a "£10 Pom" in the 1960s and spent two years in Australia, and has always retained a special affection for "Oz", which is fortunate as two of her three children now live there. She is married to her second husband David and besides writing she enjoys being outdoors. Her love of writing has prompted her to run two Writer's Circles to encourage other would-be authors. Her novels are mostly historical murder mysteries, but she also writes books set in the present day, but with historical flashbacks. She has also written a children's story, aimed at her grandson's age-group with an Ancient Egyptian theme, her first attempt at writing for children.
