Hester Fox recommends

The Colony of Lost Souls (2025)
Kelsey James
"Brimming with Gothic atmosphere and dark secrets, The Colony of Lost Souls swept me away with its glittering 1930s coastal setting and easy-to-love heroine. James masterfully weaves together threads of romance, obsession, and the occult into a suspenseful story that is perfect for fans of Sarah Penner and Simone St. James."

The Artist of Blackberry Grange (2025)
Paulette Kennedy
"Kennedy continues to outdo herself with a haunting tale that is both fresh in its takes on beloved tropes, as well as true to her oeuvre and the Gothic literary tradition. My favorite Paulette Kennedy book so far."

Motheater (2025)
Linda H Codega
"With a voice as unique and haunting as the Appalachian setting, Codega delivers an enchanting story of witchcraft, nature and industry, and the power of a love that can move mountains."
