Dan Jones

Dan Jones lives in several worlds at once, and rarely sits still. He loves heavy metal, books, space, and cricket. An ideal day would therefore be taking a book to the Test Match at Lord’s, followed by a Dream Theater gig in low-Earth orbit. It hasn't happened yet.

His debut novel, the acclaimed SF thriller Man O'War, was published in 2018, and his follow-up novel The Green Man, a historical mystery with a supernatural edge, was published in 2025.

Outside of writing, he shakes the ground by playing bass guitar for the acclaimed prog-metal group Sky Empire, and during the day works for the UK Space Agency as the Head of European Space Agency Policy.

When he’s not creating worlds, he visits the worlds of others by co-hosting Chronscast - the Fantasy, Science Fiction & Horror Podcast with his friends Christopher Bean and Pete Long. The trio discuss classic genre novels with special guests, and dispense lessons and advice for budding authors navigating the publishing industry.

Dan lives with his wife and children – and their cat, Teddy – in Essex, England.
