Michael Jecks recommends

Spare Me the Truth (2016)
(Dan Forrester, book 1)
C J Carver
"Nothing short of brilliant . . . Carver has created a wonderful story here, sort of Jason Bourne meets Silence of the Lambs."

Life Ruins (2019)
Danuta Kot
"Explores real issues, from the perspective of real, damaged people, and told with a real warmth and understanding. Danuta Kot raises the bar for all crime writers."

The Stranger (2020)
(Jude Lyon, book 1)
Simon Conway
"Probably my favourite book of the year . . . a fabulous thriller, full on, remarkable and ingenious. If you don't read it, you're missing out big time!"

Napoleon's Run (2020)
(William John Hazzard, book 1)
Jonathan Spencer
"This book has a rich cast of characters who will delight, enthral and keep you turning the pages to the very end. A brilliant, thrilling read, with a new - and very believable - hero. This is my favourite historical novel of the year so far."
