Mason Coile is the pen name of bestselling author, Andrew Pyper. Mason writes books that are distinct from Andrew's: short, twisty thrillers with a sci-fi bent and a strand of horror in their DNA. Coile's first novel is WILLIAM, an A.I. ghost story. His second (coming in 2025) is EXILES. Both novels will be published by Putnam in North America (and will be available in a number of foreign translations). WILLIAM is being developed for feature film. Both Mason and Andrew live in Toronto -- in the same house! -- which can get confusing sometimes.

Mason Coile recommends

One Yellow Eye (2025)
Leigh Radford
"You wouldn't expect a zombie novel to have so much to say about love. Radford's suspenseful One Yellow Eye is driven by various fears--the fear of a virus that could return to rip the world apart, the fear of a terrible wrongdoing being discovered--but in the end zombies take a backseat to the greatest horror of all: losing the one closest to our heart."

The Garden (2025)
Nick Newman
"A gothic novel of weird sisters in the vein of We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Nick Newman's alluring debut twists and slithers into its own mysterious, compulsively readable shape. I loved it!"

The Queen (2024)
Nick Cutter
"The Queen establishes Nick Cutter as the living master of maximalist horror writing in the English language. But that's not all! It's also gripping, relentlessly suspenseful, and surprisingly tender. A big, stomach-flipping joy ride of a book."
