Novellas
David Dalglish recommends

33 A.D (2010)
(Bachiyr, book 1)
David McAfee
"...a fun, bloody addition to vampire lore...these vampires are brutish, bloody, murderous monsters. Look for sex and sparkles elsewhere."

The Rage of Dragons (2017)
(Burning , book 1)
Evan Winter
"A refreshingly brutal and imaginative tale of survival and revenge. Evan Winter's battles are visceral, bloody masterpieces, and Tau's climb from exiled Lesser to legendary warrior is earned in a way few writers could hope to match."

The Thousand Deaths of Ardor Benn (2018)
(Kingdom of Grit, book 1)
Tyler Whitesides
"Mission Impossible, but with magic, dragons, and a series of heists that go from stealing a crown to saving the world. A fun, terrific read I heartily recommend."

The Unbroken (2021)
(Magic of the Lost, book 1)
C L Clark
"It doesn't take long to realize The Unbroken is something special. I'm going to need book two ASAP."

The Blacktongue Thief (2021)
(Blacktongue, book 1)
Christopher Buehlman
"Instantly immersive, with wit as sharp as a thief's blade and the most frightening take on goblins I've ever read."
